Best Practices

These suggestions may help improve the overall quality and experience of your Collaborate session.
  • Mute your microphone and video when entering the classroom for the first time.
    • This ensures your microphone does not cause interference for your classmates or interrupt someone already speaking.
  • Mute your microphone when you are not actively speaking.
    • This reduces background noise and unintended audio interference from your peers.
  • Use a headset or echo-cancelling microphone whenever possible.
    • Speakers allow for background noise to get into the mic when you are speaking. Using a headset improves your ability to hear your peers as well as improving the quality of your audio. Alternatively, use the telephony (call-in) feature for your audio.
