Add Name to Class Header

This tutorial will go over the process to add the instructor name to the class header in Blackboard.


Instructions

  1. Within Blackboard, open your course.
  2. On the Home Page of your course, ensure that Edit Mode is set to On.

  3. Your browser will refresh and previously hidden items may be available in your course sidebar menu.
  4. Next, locate the small grey arrow next to Home Page. This is a contextual menu.
  5. Select this button to reveal further options available within this contextual menu.

  6. On the contextual menu, select the option for Page Banner.

  7. This process is also outlined in this animated GIF.
  8. After selecting the Page Banner option above, you will be directed to a page with a text editing box and visual editor (rich-text editor, WYSIWYG editor, etc.).

  9. On this screen, place your cursor at the end of the course title.

  10. Press the Enter or Return key on your keyboard. This should add a new line under the course title.
  11. Type your name directly into the text area.
  12. After you have have typed your name into the area specified above, click either of the blue Submit buttons on the right side of the screen.

  13. The page will save and you will be directed back the course home page, with your name added to the classroom header.
